PRINCETON, N.J. – Competing in its penultimate fall tournament, Harvard women's golf tallied a fourth-place finish at the Yale Invitational, held Oct. 4-6 at the Course at Yale.
Sophomore Anina Ku paced the Crimson with a second-place result, finishing three under par after shooting back-to-back 69's over the final 36 holes. Classmate Chloe Royston tallied a top-10 finish, taking ninth, including a team-low round of 68 on Sunday.
Harvard improved its score over each round, with Ku leading the program on day one with a one-over 72. First-year Meiyi Yan and senior Jessica Luo each tallied two birdies in the opening round. Ku finished under par in the second round at 69 (-2), while Yan tallied an eagle on the par four 11th hole on day two.
The Crimson saved its best for Sunday's round, with the team combining for even par. Ku and Royston ended under par at 69 (-2) and 68 (-3), respectively, while Luo ended one over at 72.
- Ku finished second overall at three under par, while leading the tournament with 43 pars.
- Yan was the only student-athlete in the field to record an eagle on a par four.
- Luo and Ku carded a team-leading seven birdies over 54 holes.
The team finishes its fall slate Oct. 19-20 at the UD Lady Blue Hen Invitational, held at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
