Women’s Golf Begins Fall Campaign at Dartmouth Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Stepping into the tee box for the first time this fall, Harvard women's golf will travel to Hanover Country Club for the Dartmouth Invitational Sept. 14-15. This marks the second-straight year Harvard has played in the event, with the team taking second a year ago.

Setting the Scene
Hanover Country Club is set up for a par of 72, with the tees spanning 5,872 yards. The tournament spans two days, with Harvard's five student-athletes playing 36 holes. Harvard will be joined by Albany, Boston University, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Hartford, Merrimack, Quinnipiac, Siena, Stetson and Yale.

What to Know
• The reigning Ivy League Champions, Harvard will compete in four tournaments this fall, spanning Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
• The Crimson saw action in four fall events last year, including a second-place result at the Dartmouth Invitational a year ago. Sophomores Anina Ku and Chloe Royston both finished in the top-10 individually as well.
• Four student-athletes are back that saw action a year ago, with Ku posting a team-best 74.37 stroke average among returners, and all four finishing, on average, within five strokes of each other.
• The program announced the addition of Meiyi Yan in July, and she will make her debut this weekend.
• Harvard captured its eighth Ivy title in 2019, including its sixth in eight seasons, to advance to the NCAA regional championships in Michigan.

At The Helm
Fred Schernecker '89 is in his 22nd season as The Paul M. Weissman '52 Director of Harvard Golf, while Kevin Rhoads is in his 16th season at the helm of the women's program, while also leading the men's for eight seasons. Rhoads has steered the Crimson to eight Ivy League championships, including six of the past eight.
