MIDDLETOWN, N.J. – Competing in her home state this past week, rising sophomore Anina Ku was crowned champion of the 94th New Jersey Women's Amateur Golf Tournament at Navesink Country Club.

Ku impressed all tournament long, shooting an even par through 36 holes of stroke play to qualify as the third seed for the match play rounds. She then cruised by her first three match play opponents, 5 & 3, 5 & 4 and 3 & 2, to reach the championship.

Her opponent in the final was former Georgetown golfer Christina Parsells. Ku defeated Parsells, 2 & 1, to win the state title.

Ku reflected on the victory, saying "This was a tournament I kind of dreamed of winning one day. It's so tough to win this tournament because we have so many great players in this state."

The victory comes on the heels of a strong first-year season for Ku, as she was named to the All-Ivy second team while helping the Crimson capture the Ivy League championship for the sixth time in eight years.
