Women’s Golf Welcomes Three Freshmen For 2017-18 Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Fred Schernecker '89, The Paul M. Weissman '52 Director of Harvard Golf, welcomes three incoming freshmen to the women's golf team for the 2017-18 season.

"In addition to their impressive golf accomplishments, our incoming freshmen are representative of the academic excellence embodied by Harvard with impressive classroom credentials and leadership roles," said Schernecker.

The incoming Class of 2021 hails from California and Connecticut.

Belinda Hu | San Ramon, Calif. | Dougherty Valley
Ranked as high as No. 13 in the country for class of 2017 in AJGA Polo Golf … Produced five top-5 AJGA performances, including first place finishes at 2016 Killington and 2016 Junior at the Ranch … Captained Dougherty Valley golf in 2016 … Two-time U.S. Girl's Junior Championship qualifier in match play, including T33 in round of 64 … 2016 U'S Women's Amateur Championship qualifier … Made the Transamerica Junior All-America team in 2016 … 2016 AJGA Academic All-American … Model United Nations in 2014-16 with two research essay awards and one honorable mention.

Qualified for 2012 Evian masters … Member of the Greenwich Academy Cum Laude Society … Earned Williamson award in history and French … Became the third Vik family member to join the Crimson golf program with father Alex '78 and sister Caroline '10, also playing at Harvard.
