PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Michelle Xie led the Harvard women's golf team at the Princeton Invitational over the weekend, shooting two below par to best the field. The Palo Alto, Calif., native beat the second-place finisher, Camilla Vik of Columbia, by six strokes, posting a score of 68 (-4) on day one at the Springdale Golf Course.
Xie finished the weekend at 74-72 to total a 214 over the three-day event. As a team, the Crimson finished ninth overall with scores of 311-305-307 (923). Columbia won the event at 891 (+27, 292-301-298).
Sophomore Anna Zhou finished at plus-nine to tie for 13th, shooting par on day one. She finished with scores of 78-75 to sit in a three-way knot with Lexie Toth of Rollins and Pendleton Bogache of Georgetown.
Senior Nina Fairbairn notched scores of 80-74-77 to total a mark of 231 and finish in a tie for 32nd.
Harvard wraps the fall season at the Delaware Invitational at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club Oct. 22.
