Coming off a successful year with the Crimson, first-years Elizabeth Tartakovsky and Veronica Czyzewski placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in women’s sabre at the North American Cup on Friday, April 12.
Upon the NCAA’s announcement on March 12, the Harvard men’s and women’s fencing squads will send a collective 12 members to the NCAA Championships to vie for the program’s second national title after last capturing it in 2006.
After a day of multiple bouts, the No.7 women’s fencing squad took home three wins from the St. John’s Invitational, with victories over ranked opponents No. 3 Columbia, No. 5 Ohio State and host St. John's.
In the spring, the Ivy League and ESPN agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms. This includes coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs on ESPN linear networks and ESPN+.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Gabrielle Tartakovsky and Shawn Wallace will guide the Harvard women’s fencing team through the 2018-19 season as senior captains. As all captains at Harvard, the leadership posts were determined based on an election of the student-athletes on the team.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships last season, head coach Peter Brand has announced the Harvard men’s and women’s fencing 2018-19 schedule.
The Crimson will kick-off its 2018-19 campaign at the Penn State Open Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4 in State College, Pa. Nearly a month later, the men and women will travel to Sacred Heart on Dec. 2 to compete in the Sacred Heart Invitational. The Crimson will face host Sacred Heart, NYU, Penn State, Temple and Vassar. The women’s team will begin its home slate that same week, hosting Wellesley and Tufts on Dec. 4.
