Women’s Fencing Reveals Captains for 2017-18 Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Helping the Crimson to its highest placement at the NCAA Championships, Harvard women's fencing announced Sharon Ra and MacKenzie Lawrence as the captains for the 2017-18 campaign.

Lawrence finished her junior season with 44 wins and a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The Leawood, Kansas native clinched a sixth-place distinction at NCAA Regionals, posting a 13-9 record and a plus-23 touch differential.
 
Ra paced the epee squad with 63 wins over the 2016-17 campaign. The New York City native earned second team All-Ivy after clinching a fifth-place finish. She secured 12 wins at the NCAA Regional tournament and added eight wins at the NCAA Championships.
 
The women's fencing team helped the Crimson capture a fifth-place distinction as a team at the NCAA Championships. Harvard clinched its highest placement at the NCAA Championships since the 2013-14 season.
