Jarocki, Itzkowitz Lead Women’s Fencing to a 6-0 Start

Jarocki goes undefeated in the Harvard's first tournament of the season (Gil Talbot).

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Harvard women's fencing went 5-0 at the Tradition Tournament, its first tournament of the season, hosted by Sacred Heart on Sunday. This is the third year in a row that the women's team has gone undefeated at the tournament. 

The Crimson earned a victory over Vassar, 23-4, and continued sweeping the rest of the competition. In the second round, Harvard beat Penn State, 18-9 while also surpassing the hosts, 22-5, in the third round. 
 
In the last two rounds, Harvard was able to hold on to its undefeated record with wins over Temple, 17-10, and NYU, 22-5. 
 
The epee squad went 3-2, while the foil and saber fencers went 5-0. Junior Adrienne Jarocki and senior AliyaItzkowitz led the women defeating all 15 of their opponents. 
 
The men and women take a break during the winter as they prepare for the St. John's Invitational in Queens, New York on Jan. 23.
