Day One Recap

PRINCETON, N.J. – After trailing the pack on day one of IRA National Championships, the No. 5 Radcliffe lightweight varsity eight rebounded to finish fifth at the regatta today, June 3. Due to high winds and unsafe conditions, the varsity four and double races were cancelled.

Despite finishing seventh in the race for lanes on Saturday, the varsity eight clipped MIT and Wisconsin by more than six seconds, clocking 7:33.483 in its final race of the season. Stanford took the team title, completing the course in 7:12.373, battling high winds and rough water conditions that slowed the race by more than 30 seconds from day one.
