Maria Boyle and McKenzie Parks will serve as captains of Radcliffe lightweight crew in 2018-19.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Radclilffe lightweight crew announced it has elected its 2018-19 captains, Maria Boyle and McKenzie Parks.
Boyle, who rowed in the stroke seat and the five seat of the first varsity eight this past season, helped the Crimson reach the grand final at the Kencht Cup. A native of Madison, CT, Boyle has been a regular on the 1V8 since the second half of her freshman year, when she raced in the No. 2 seat at the Eastern Sprints and IRAs.
Parks served as a co-captain in 2018 and has been the coxswain of the first varsity eight since her freshman year. A native of Peachtree City, Ga., Parks has been an Intercollegiate Rowing Association All-Academic team selection during her time at Harvard. In 2016, she helped guide the first varsity eight to a gold medal at the 52nd Head of the Charles Regatta.
The Radcliffe first varsity eight finished the year No. 5 in the USRowing Collegiate Coaches' Poll and were ranked as high as No. 2 this past season.
