CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
The Radcliffe lightweight crew's spring season began with wins in three races Saturday morning on the Charles River at the Beanpot Regatta. The Black and White outpaced the competition in the varsity eights, second varsity eight and novice four events.

The varsity eight led from start to finish in the crew's first race of the day. Radcliffe rowed the course in 6:59.6, well ahead of Boston University in second at 7:18.9 and MIT in third at 7:34.6. BU, which started its women's lightweight crew at the beginning of the 2012-13 academic year, was competing in its first regular season race as a varsity program in the varsity eights event.

In the last race of the day, the novice four boat finished the sweep for Radcliffe. The crew stopped the clock at 8:54.8 to earn the victory by 9:12.8 over MIT.
