CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Taliet Gerretsen, a former lightweight rower and assistant coach at Princeton, has been named coaching assistant for the Radcliffe lightweight crew, head coach Michiel Bartman has announced.
Gerretsen comes to Cambridge from Ithaca, N.Y., where she coached the recreational sculling summer program at the Cascadilla Boat Club.
The 2009 Princeton graduate spent the 2009-10 season as an assistant coach at her alma mater, working with novice athletes and assisting with the varsity squad. Concurrent to the coaching stint with the Tigers, Gerretsen also coached at the Carnegie Lake Rowing Association.
Gerretsen was a four-year member of the Princeton lightweight women’s crew. As a senior, she was a part of the varsity eight that reached the grand final at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, earned a runner-up finish at Eastern Sprints and placed second among women’s collegiate lightweight entries at the Head of the Charles Regatta.
Following graduation with a degree in molecular biology, Gerretsen participated in the elite summer rowing program at Philadelphia’s Vesper Boat Club.
