CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In its regular season finale, the No. 15 Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew team will host No. 8 Yale and Northeastern its only home regatta of the season on the Charles River this Saturday, April 27. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:12 a.m.
What to Know
- The Black and White stayed at No. 15 in the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll for its second-straight week.
- Last time out, Radcliffe fell to No. 8 Brown in a tight varsity eight race where the Brown Bears bested the Black and White by 5.7 seconds.
- During last year's races, Radcliffe topped Northeastern by 1.3 seconds to earn the Rowlands Trophy. Yale secured the Case Cup after defeating the Black and White by 5.5 seconds.
- Yale is coming off back-to-back wins over Cornell and Princeton during its last two weeks of competition, while Northeastern dropped its last two regattas to Columbia and Boston University.
Leading the Way
Liz O'Leary enters her 33rd season at the helm of Harvard's heavyweight crew program, holding a 206-115 overall record. O'Leary has guided the Black and White to winning marks in 13 of the last 16 seasons, including NCAA Championship appearances in five of the last seven years and 17 times during the 21-year history of the event. That success has continued throughout her tenure with over 200 dual wins, top-finishing crews at Sprints and numerous appearances at national championships.
Radcliffe returns to competition next Sunday, May 4 as the Black and White head to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester for Eastern Sprints.
