Stephanie Eble and Erica Holmes will serve as captains of the 2018-19 Radcliffe heavyweight crew team.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Radcliffe heavyweight crew elected its captains for the 2018-19 season, Stephanie Eble and Erica Holmes, the program announced this week.
Elbe, a regular in the No. 2 seat of the first varsity eight this past season, and a native of Fort Washington, Pa., helped the 1V8+ to an Eastern Sprints title and race wins against Michigan State and Northeastern this past season. She has raced with the first varsity eight in the last two seasons, teaming with Holmes this season to form a strong bow pair.
Holmes, a native of Buckinghamshire, England, was also a regular in the first varsity eight in 2018. Holding down the bow seat for much of the year, Holmes made an immediate impact with the Crimson, rowing in the 2V8+ as a freshman before earning a spot in the 1V8+ in 2017. She came to Harvard with a strong resume, making final in the junior women's quad at the Royal Henley Regatta.
Radcliffe heavyweight crew was ranked as high as No. 13 in the CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll this past season and returns a solid corps of rowers heading into next year.
