No. 16 Radcliffe Heavyweight Crew Places Fourth at Ivy League Championships

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The No. 16 Radcliffe heavyweight crew placed fourth in the team standings at the 2018 Ivy League Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey Sunday. The Black and White tallied 50 points, while Yale placed first with 78. 

Following the racing, the first and second All-Ivy League teams were recognized. Senior Sofia Donnecke was elected to the All-Ivy League first team. Fellow senior Kathleen Malloch earned a spot on the All-Ivy League second team.

Radcliffe reached the finals of the first varsity eight race with a runner-up showing in its morning heat. In the final, the Black and White crossed the flag in 6:50.578, good for fifth. Princeton was able to win the race, edging Yale and Penn.

Radcliffe's varsity four A produced a stellar second-place finish in the final of its race, registering a time of 7:40.426. Yale won the event. The Black and White's third varsity four rowed to a third-place finish in the final, while the second varsity four won the second final, besting Columbia.

In the second varsity eight race, Radcliffe placed second in its morning heat and went on to finish fourth in the final with a mark of 7:03.521. The third varsity eight positioned itself in fifth place in the final of its race.
