  • Women’s Basketball Falters at Columbia, 89-64

    NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Harvard women’s basketball team (14-7, 5-3 Ivy League) suffered an 89-64 setback at Columbia (13-8, 4-4 Ivy League) tonight, Feb. 15, at Levien Gymnasium. Three Crimson players recorded double-digit points tonight, led by first-year Lola Mullaney for the 14th time this season with 12. Senior Jeannie Boehm and junior co-captain Rachel Levy followed closely behind with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Defensively, five Crimson players grabbed a team-high four rebounds, while sophomore Tess Sussman tallied two steals.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – Extending its win streak to three games, the Harvard women’s basketball team (14-6, 5-2 Ivy League) took down Cornell (9-10, 2-5 Ivy League), 73-58, tonight, Feb. 14, at Newman Arena. Four Crimson players recorded double-digit points tonight, led by sophomore Tess Sussman with a career-high 20 points. Sussman went four-for-five from three-point range and four-for-four from the charity stripe. First-year Lola Mullaney, sophomore Maggie McCarthy and senior Jeannie Boehm each reached double figures with 15, 14 and 11 points, respectively. Junior co-captain Rachel Levy guided the defense with 10 rebounds, while Sussman added eight and Boehm tallied six.

Through the night, the game was tied seven times, while the lead changed five. Going into tonight’s contest, the Bulldogs were undefeated in Ivy League play.

    BOSTON, Mass. – After a short trip down Commonwealth Ave., Harvard women’s basketball used a strong defensive and shooting effort to down the Boston University Terriers, 66-39. First-year Lola Mullaney led the Crimson with a 18-point night, all of which came from beyond the arc. Sophomores Maggie McCarthy and Tess Sussman along with senior, Mackenzie Barta led the defensive effort with lockdown perimeter defense, holding the Terriers to just an 10-percent clip from three-point range.
