BARCELONA, Spain – In front of a packed arena full of Barcelona's local basketball community, the Harvard women's basketball team defeated club Joventut, 86-39, on Monday night to conclude its three-game exhibition slate.
Harvard recorded 22 assists in its overseas finale, using a balanced attack on offense and capitalizing in transition to end its foreign tour in an impressive fashion.
"Even though the trip is so much more than basketball, the opportunity to practice and play overseas will prove to be invaluable this season," stated head coach Kathy Delany-Smith. "We're very excited to get back to Harvard and build on this momentum."
The Crimson will use its last days in Spain to explore the city of Barcelona before returning to Cambridge tomorrow, August 29th.
