Women's Basketball Announces Class of 2021

Harvard women's basketball will welcome five student-athletes from the Class of 2021 to the program this fall, head coach Kathy Delaney-Smith announced today. The class, which spans four states and two countries (USA, Sweden), includes three forwards, one guard/forward, and one guard. Harvard returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from last season's squad that went 21-9, the program's 12th 20-win season. The Crimson earned a seventh WNIT bid in program history, advancing to the second round with a 69-56 win over New Hampshire on March 17.

Before Harvard: Played 21 games for Alvik Basket (Bromma, Sweden) in 2016-17...Played for Sweden U16, U17, and U18 National Teams…Won title with Sweden at 2016 U18 European Championships…Key contributor with Sweden at 2014 U16 European Championships, helping team to runner-up finish.

Delaney-Smith on Salen: "Matilda comes to us with a strong international background and her drive and work ethic speak for themselves. Matilda's ability to play multiple guard positions only adds to her versatility and ability to contribute to our program."
