CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior forward Destiny Nunley earned Ivy League Co-Player of the Week honors, the league announced this afternoon. For Nunley, it is her first career Ivy weekly honor.
Nunley was excellent for Harvard in two wins at home against Maine (W, 69-62) and Samford (W, 57-52). On Tuesday night against Maine, Nunley notched a career high 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, adding seven rebounds, an assist and a block. She scored six points in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter to help Harvard seal the win.
On Friday night against Samford, Nunley added 10 points, two blocks and a steal, adding an assist and a rebound in the win over the Bulldogs.
Nunley, a native of North Richland Hills, Texas, leads Harvard in scoring through three games this season with an average of 13.7 points per game. She also is among team leaders with an average of 5.0 rebounds per contest, and has been the team’s top rebounder in two of Harvard’s first three contests this season.
Harvard takes on Boston University in a road contest on Tuesday night at Case Gym with opening tip scheduled for 7 p.m.
