Sydney Skinner Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard women's basketball freshman Sydney Skinner earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her efforts over the weekend, the conference announced Monday.

Skinner averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists to help the Crimson to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Yale and Brown. The Plano, Texas native matched her career high with 14 points against the Bulldogs, including a crucial 6-0 spurt to put Harvard ahead one late in the fourth quarter. Against Brown, Skinner posted 12 points, six boards and a personal-best eight assists. The eight assists was the most since Brogan Berry on Jan. 14, 2012 (8).

The Crimson heads south this weekend for matchups against Princeton and Penn. The game against the Tigers will be live on ESPN3. Both contests can be seen on the Ivy League Digital Network.
