Delaney-Smith Adds Heidi Banks to Women’s Basketball Staff

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball head coach Kathy Delaney-Smith has announced the addition of Heidi Banks as the director of basketball operations for the 2015-16 season.

Banks arrives in Cambridge after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at Amherst College. With the Jeffs, Banks was responsible for guard development, while also assisting with film exchange, recruiting and team administrative duties.

During her four years, Banks helped the Jeffs to two Final Four appearances. In 2014-15, Amherst posted a 25-4 overall record, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen and finishing with a national rank of No. 12.

A four-year letterwinner at Long Island University, Banks was a two-time captain for the Blackbirds, closing out her career ranked fifth all-time in three-pointers. A three-time Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, Banks graduated cum laude from LIU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing.

Banks resides in Fitchburg, Massachusetts with her husband Adam.
