Senior captain earns her first league honor after outstanding senior weekend.

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard women's basketball senior captain Erin McDonnell has been named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. McDonnell was key in both of the Crimson's wins over her final home weekend.

For the weekend, McDonnell averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists, but her timing was crucial in each game.

Against the Big Red, McDonnell scored seven of her 15 points over the game-changing 16-4 Crimson run to lift Harvard past Cornell, 60-54. On Senior Night, the Morristown, New Jersey native drained a long, game-winning three with 58 seconds remaining to give the Crimson an 82-81 victory.

McDonnell shares the weekly honor with Blake Dietrick of Princeton.

This is the first Ancient Eight honor for McDonnell and the first this year for the Crimson. McDonnell and the rest of the Crimson will wrap up the regular season this weekend at Yale and Brown.
