GREENWOOD, Ind. – After excelling both on the track and in the classroom, junior Maya Miklos has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Team.
Miklos is the first female student-athlete to be named to the All-District team since Nikki Okwelogu and Courtney Smith in 2017. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Miklos has won two Ivy League individual championships this season, winning the 500m indoor title with a Harvard-record time of 1:11.78 and winning the 400m hurdles outdoor title in 58.05 seconds. The 500m time is the sixth-best by an Ivy League runner all-time.
A mathematics and physics concentrator, Miklos was selected to the Phi Beta Kappa 'Junior 24' and is a resident of Phorzheimer house.
The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. To garner Academic All-District recognition, members of CoSIDA nominate and vote for the athletes who maintain a GPA of 3.30 or higher in combination with their athletic ability. Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot.
