BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior triple jumper Simi Fajemisin placed 14th in the triple jump at the 2019 Indoor Track and Field Championships, Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. With the mark, she earned second-team All-America honors at the meet.
Fajemisin reached a mark of 12.78m (41-11.25) to secure her spot as a USTFCCCA second-team All-American. She is the 30th Harvard student-athlete to earn All-America status in indoor track and field and the first to do it in the triple jump.
Fajemisin's performance already adds to an impressive resume for Oxford, United Kingdom native, who was named the 2019 Female Field Athlete of the Meet at Ivy Heps after winning the triple jump, breaking her own program record. She is now a two-time All-American, earning USTFCCCA All-America honorable mention honors in the triple jump last season during the outdoor season.
The Harvard indoor track season concludes and the team will take two weeks off until kicking off the outdoor season at the Victor Lopez Invitational at Rice University in Houston, Texas on March 22.
