Track and Field Set For Heps After Standout Performances at Stonehill Meet, Penn Relays

Ian West placed second in the pole vault at the Stonehill Invitational today. 

EASTON, Mass. –
On Saturday afternoon at the Stonehill (Skyhawk) Invitational, members of Harvard track and field made their final preparations for Ivy Outdoor Heps next weekend.

Highlighting efforts for the Crimson were Erick Duffy, who won the pole vault, clearing 16-7½ on his third attempt to edge teammate Ian West, who finished second by clearing 15-11.

Kahlil Wassell finished in fourth place in the 200m (22.84), and placed eighth in the 100m dash, running 11.27 into a headwind.  

Nicky Maxwell made his spring debut in the 400m, finishing in 1:07.14.

On the women's side, Annika Gompers set a new personal record in the 800m, placing eighth in 2:14.51, just ahead of sophomore Eliza Rego, who took 11th in 2:17.68 

Penn Relays
On Thursday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, several Harvard student-athletes participated in the Penn Relays.

Hugo Milner recorded a season-best time in the 5000m, finishing in sixth place in 14:09.77.

In the women's 5000m, Abbe Goldstein placed ninth overall in 16:41.33. In the 3000m steeplechase, Anna Juul recorded her season-best time in the event (10:29.51), placing 14th overall. 

What's Next
Harvard will head back to Franklin Field next weekend to compete at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, hosted by Penn on May 5-6.
