Gillespie's 1000m PR Leads Track and Field at IC4A/ECAC Championships

Kathryn Gillespie set a new personal record in the 1000 meters at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.

BOSTON, Mass. –
Junior Kathryn Gillespie placed second in the 1000m, recording the second fastest time in the event in program history (2:45.54) to lead Harvard track and field at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.

For Gillespie it was a new personal record in the event.

Senior captain Jay Hebert placed second in the 60-meter hurdles, running 7.99 in the final on Sunday, one day after nearing his personal record in the event with a 7.97 time in the preliminaries

Michael Kolor narrowly missed qualifying for the final in the 800m, nearing his own personal record in the event with a 1:52.20 finish (11th).

Freshman Erick Duffy took fifth place in the pole vault, setting a new personal mark by clearing 16'6.75". Ian West took ninth (15'9") in the event.

On Saturday, Matt Hurst placed 16th in the 400m (49.06).

What's Next?
Gabby Thomas (60m, 200m)and Myles Marshall (800m) will represent Harvard at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend (March 9-10) at Texas A&M.
