McLennan Tabbed By Athletics Canada For Pan American U20 Championships

Jacob McLennan took fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Rising sophomore Jacob McLennan was selected by Athletics Canada for the 2017 Pan American Championships U20 Track and Field team. McLennan will compete in the 400-meter hurdles for Team Canada. The competition will take place from July 21-23 in Peru, where McLennan will join Harvard teammate Judy Pendergast (United States, 3000 meters).

McLennan, a native of Toronto, Ontario, enjoyed standout indoor and outdoor campaigns in his first season with the Crimson. Competing in a variety of sprints and hurdles events, McLennan teamed with James Heckendorn, Matthew Hurst, and Alexander Moore to take third place (3:15.28) in the 4x400-meter relay at the Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships.

In the outdoor season, McLennan set a new personal record in his best event, finishing 7th at the Stanford Cardinal Classic (53.19) in the 400-meter hurdles. At the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships, McLennan took fourth place (53.28).
