CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard competed at three different meets today around the nation, including the Husky Classic (University of Washington), the Tyson Invitational (University of Arkansas) and the Valentine Invitational (BU).
At the Husky Classic, in the 5,000 meter run, freshman Judy Pendergast finished second in 15:52.64, the third fastest time in the event in school history, and sixth fastest in Ivy League history.
Senior Jade Miller finished 11th in the 400 meter dash at the Tyson Invitational in 54.63, just off her best time in the event (54.39). Sophomore Ngozi Musa qualified for the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a 7.52, her fastest time of the indoor season. Freshmen Simi Fajemisin and Zoe Hughes finished back-to-back in 14th and 15th in the long jump, both reaching 5.75 meters.
At the Valentine Invitational at BU, Micah Meekins finished sixth in the 200-meter dash, running a personal best in the event with a 24.76 finish.
Freshman Livia Gauntlett placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles running her fastest time in the event - 8.71 seconds.
Senior Nikki Okwelogu won the shot put with a throw of 16.28 meters on her second to last attempt. Sophomore Nicole Trenchard took third place in the pole vault, clearing 3.65 meters.
