Molly Renfer represented Switzerland at the European Under 23 Championship (Brian Panoff).

ESKILSTUNA, Sweden & TALLINN Estonia - Earlier this month, a pair of Harvard women's track and field members, Molly Renfer '15 and Kathryn Gillespie '19 competed in the European Under 23 and 20 Championships, respectively.

Renfer, who graduated from Harvard this spring after a phenomenal career, competed in the European Under 23 1,5000 meter race representing Switzerland, finishing with a time of 4:18.36, the second-best time of her career.

"I'm so glad that Molly was able to cap her season off with another international experience," said Jason Saretsky, The William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country. "I know representing Switzerland is a big honor for her and it was great to see her competing at such a high level."

Gillespie, set to arrive in Cambridge this fall, raced in the 1,500 meters at the Under 20 Championships in Sweden representing the United Kingdom. Crossing the finish line in 4:25.64, Gillespie claimed fifth in the race.

"We've been excited for Kat to join our program for a while and now that she has competed so well on the international stage, we are even more excited to have her compete for us," commented Saretsky.
