Three Track Athletes Earn All-America Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Autumne Franklin, freshman Jade Miller and junior Erika Veidis all earned second team All-America honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced.

First-Team All-America honors were awarded to those who finished among the top eight in an individual or relay event as part of a team at the NCAA Championships over the weekend. Second-Team All-America honors went to those who finished between ninth and 16th. Honorable Mention honors were given to the remaining finishers.

Senior James Leakos, senior Hannah Mayer, sophomore Tom Purnell and freshman Efe Uwaifo finished as honorable mentions.

Franklin just missed qualifying for the finals with a time of 57.48 in the 400m hurdles, finishing 10th overall. Freshman Jade Miller was not far behind (57.91), placing fourth in her heat and 12th of 24 runners.

Junior Erika Veidis placed fifth in her heat, 16th overall in the 800m run, stopping the clock at 2:06.03.
