CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard ski team will head back up to Craftsbury, Vt. and to Stowe, Vt. for the UVM Carnival this weekend, Jan. 24-25. The alpine squad is set to compete in giant slalom on Jan. 24 and slalom on Jan. 25, while the nordic team will compete in the classic sprints on Jan. 24 and the 5K/10K skate on Jan 25. The team returns to the UVM Carnival after an eighth-place finish out of the 16 teams competing in the 2018-19 season. Check back on @Harvardski with start times.
What to Know
- Harvard will head into this weekend coming off a successful first outing of the 2019-20 season with seven top-25 finishes between the alpine and nordic teams.
- First-year Rémi Drolet placed second in the 20km classic race and third in the 10km skate, marking the first top-three finishes since Akeo Maifeld-Carucci in the 2014-15 season.
- Junior Nellie Ide led the Crimson in the alpine races placing top-15 in slalom, the third best placement of her career.
- Senior Mackinley FitzPatrick's 22nd place finish at the Harvard Carnival marks his career best placement in the 10km skate.
Harvard will travel to Sugarloaf Mtn., Maine for the Colby Carnival Jan. 31- Feb. 1.
