Softball Heads to the Nation’s Capital for the District Classic

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard softball team (2-3) continues its road venture to the nation's capital for the District Classic hosted by Georgetown. The Crimson is slated for four games against Bucknell (4-5), Georgetown (3-11), Howard (3-11) and St. Joe's (4-1).

While in Washington D.C. the Crimson opens up the weekend against Bucknell on March 2 at 12:30 p.m. before the faceoff with host Georgetown at 3 p.m. Harvard concludes its time in the capital the following day with a 10 a.m. morning contest against Howard proceeded by St. Joe's at 12:30 p.m. 

What to Know

  • In its opening weekend, the Crimson went 2-3, recording wins over Delaware and Jacksonville.
  • Senior Kaitlyn Schiffhauer leads the Crimson with a batting average of .300 in her ten at bats.
  • Senior pitcher Katie Duncan has kept her opponents at bay while boasting a 1.40 ERA and five strikeouts.
