Junior shortstop Rhianna Rich nets Ivy League Player of the Week honors for second time this season (Gil Talbot).
PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior shortstop Rhianna Rich earned Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time this season as announced on Monday afternoon.
The southern California native was nearly perfect at the dish as the Crimson swept the season series against defending Ivy League champion Princeton. Rich posted a .714 batting average (5-7) with a staggering 2.262 OPS (1.429 SLG%, .833 OBP), while scoring a team-high eight runs to go along with a triple, and homerun.
Additionally, the Harvard shortstop was a part of four of the Crimson's five double plays over the three-game Princeton series. Overall on the season, Rich has recorded a team-best 12 multiple hit games, including two against the Tigers.
The Crimson returns to the diamond this weekend, April 7-8, with a three-game road series against Columbia in New York, N.Y. First pitch is slated for 12:30 p.m.
