Junior Rhianna Rich named Ivy League Player of the Week (Katie Lockhart).
PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior shortstop Rhianna Rich grabbed Ivy League Player of the Week honors announced late Monday afternoon.
Posting a .500 (7-14) batting average with a staggering 1.088 OPS (.588 OBP, .500 SLG%), Rich helped guide Harvard to a 3-1 record at the Loyola Marymount Invitational. In her home state of California, Rich drove in the game-winning run in Harvard's comeback, 6-5, extra inning victory over regional foe Providence with an opposite field single in the bottom of the ninth.
Rich has recorded two or more base-hits in each of her last three games, and is currently riding a four-game hitting streak. The Crimson remains on the west coast and returns to the diamond tomorrow afternoon with a pair of games against Colgate and UC Riverside. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. EST.
