Softball Welcomes Five as Class of 2020

Head coach Jenny Allard welcomes five newcomers to the Harvard softball team (Envision Sports).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard softball head coach Jenny Allard has announced the addition of five newcomers to the roster as the class of 2020.

"We are excited to welcome these terrific young women into the Harvard softball family," stated Allard. "Their talent, work ethic, and love of the game will make an immediate impact in our program. We know that their enthusiasm and excitement with help propel the program to another Ivy League championship."

Of the five freshmen arriving on campus this fall, two hail from California, with the other three calling Missouri, Texas and Virginia home. The class features one pitcher, one catcher, one infielder, one pitcher/infielder and a utility player.

Harvard finished last season with a 29-17 overall record and a 16-4 Ivy League mark, tops in the conference.

Four-year letterwinner on the varsity softball team at Bishop O'Connell … Three-year letterwinner in volleyball … Captained the softball team in 2016 and the volleyball team in 2015 … As a senior on the softball team, she was the Virginia All-State Player of the Year, first team all-state, All-Metropolitan team MVP, Bishop O'Connell Female Athlete of the Year … Arlington Better Sports Club Softball Player of the Year … First team all-state, all-conference and All-Met as a junior … Earned all-conference and all-state honors as a freshman and sophomore … Twice earned all-conference honors in volleyball … Bishop O'Connell won the state softball title all four years of her career (2013-16) … Conference champions in 2013 and 2016 … Holds the single-season home run record (10), RBI (59) doubles (14) and the career doubles record (35) … Was on the Honor Roll and Principal's List from 2012-16 … SCA Student Representative … Served as a tutor/coach at Nationals Youth Baseball Academy … President of the Blood Drive Club … Sister Madeline played softball at Georgetown and sister Sophie played at Cornell.

Four-year member of the Ramona softball team, pitching and playing infield … Named to the Union Tribune All-Academic Team three times … All-Valley League selection as a sophomore … Helped Ramona win the Valley League title in 2015 and 2016, going undefeated … League runner-ups in 2013 and 2014 … 2014 Division 1 CIF runner-up … Finished her senior year with a .333 batting average, helping the team to a 27-5-0 record … Principal's Honor Roll … Graduated summa cum laude … 2016 Golden State Seal Merit Scholar … AP Scholar with Honors … Volunteered at the Ramona Library … Member of the Ramona Recycling Club.

Lindey Kneib | Catcher | R/R | Webb City, Mo. | Webb City
Played for the DeMarini Aces Gold travel softball club … Qualified for Nationals in 2014, 2015 and 2016 … Ranked 28th nationally in 2016 … Played basketball at Webb City, lettering for four years and starting for two … Earned all-conference and first team defense honors on the basketball team … Member of the Honor Society … Honor Roll (2013-2016) … Academic all-state in basketball … FCA member for four years … Member of the Spanish Club and Science Club … 2016 Student Council member … Enjoys church, reading, traveling and family time.
