Former Softball Assistant Coach Ashley Waters Accepts Head Position at Boston University
July 08, 2015Ashley Waters, an assistant with the Harvard softball team the last three seasons, has accepted the head coaching position at Boston University. This marks the first head coaching job in Waters’ career. -

Softball’s Lantz Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year
June 19, 2015On Friday, June 19, the NCAA announced a record-number of nominees for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Among the 480 nominees from all three divisions of the NCAA was standout Harvard softball player Katie Lantz. -

June 18, 2015A recruit once asked me where my favorite place was on the Harvard campus. This was a question I had never really thought about before. After taking a second to gather my thoughts, my answer was Palmer Dixon. A couple teammates that were standing around listening to the conversation laughed, thinking I was being my usual sarcastic and joking self. For once this was not the case. -

Harvard Varsity Club Celebrates the Class of 2015 at Annual Senior Letterwinners' Dinner
May 27, 2015Harvard Athletics and the Harvard Varsity Club celebrated the Class of 2015 Wednesday night at the annual Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner, held on the Murr Center Indoor Tennis Courts. A record crowd of more than 900 guests was in attendance to honor both the athletic and academic accomplishments of this year’s graduating student-athletes. -

Kaplan, Ricciardone Named to NFCA Northeast All-Region Team
May 14, 2015The NFCA announced its selections for the all-region teams Thursday, with freshman Maddy Kaplan earning a spot on the Northeast first team, while senior Laura Ricciardone was recognized as a third team selection. Both players were selected to the All-Ivy League first team earlier this week. -
Softball Recognizes Award Winners, Names Captains at Annual Banquet
May 14, 2015Harvard softball hosted its annual banquet in the Murr Center last week, handing out five team awards and naming its captains for the 2015-16 season. Rising seniors Zoe Galindo and Morgan Groom were selected to lead the Crimson next season. -
Five Softball Players Voted to All-Ivy League Teams
May 12, 2015The Ivy League has announced the selections for the 2015 All-Ivy League teams Thursday, with four Harvard student-athletes earning first team recognition and a fifth being named honorable mention. Laura Ricciardone, Katherine Lantz, Maddy Kaplan and Andrea Del Conte were each named All-Ivy League first team, while Emily Gusse received honorable mention. The four first team choices are the most by any team in the conference and is the highest tally for the Harvard since placing five on the top team in 2011. -

Walk-off Win Highlights Final Day of the Season for Softball
April 26, 2015Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning in Sunday’s first game, senior Adrienne Hume hit a base knock down the left field line to bring home Giana Panariello, giving Harvard a 3-2 victory over Dartmouth. Game two at Soldiers Field went to the visiting team, 4-1, as the Crimson and Dartmouth split for the second day in a row. -
Softball Rallies in Game Two to Secure Doubleheader Split with Dartmouth Saturday
April 25, 2015Trailing 5-1 heading into the top of the seventh in game two Saturday, Harvard sent six base-runners across home plate and then held on in the bottom of the inning to top Dartmouth, 7-6. The victory was a bounce back for the Crimson (22-20, 12-6 Ivy) after the Big Green (22-15, 15-3 Ivy) won the opening game of the series 1-0. -
Softball Seeks North Division Title in Final Regular Season Series Versus Dartmouth
April 23, 2015The final weekend of the Ivy League softball regular season pits the top two teams in the North Division against each other in a four-game set, with the division title still up for grabs. Dartmouth (21-14), with a 14-2 conference record, has a three-game lead on Harvard (21-19, 11-5 Ivy) with the two squads scheduled to meet in Hanover, New Hampshire for the series’ first two games Saturday at 2 p.m. before wrapping up with a second doubleheader at Soldiers Field in Cambridge Sunday at 2 p.m. -

Softball Hands Bryant 9-3 Loss Tuesday Afternoon
April 21, 2015Harvard softball (21-19) put together a dominant team performance Tuesday, downing the Bryant Bulldogs, 9-3, at Soldiers Field. Four Crimson pitchers combined for eight strikeouts, while the Harvard batters did not go down on strikes once the entire game. Harvard’s bats also collected a 15-9 advantage in hits Tuesday. -
Softball Hosts Bryant in Midweek Out-of-Conference Matchup Tuesday
April 20, 2015Harvard softball (20-19) will host Bryant on Tuesday, April 22 at 4 p.m. at Soldiers Field in its final scheduled out-of-conference matchup. The Bulldogs hold an overall record of 15-27 and are an even 6-6 in NEC play. -
Softball Closes Weekend Series Against Yale with a Sunday Split
April 19, 2015Harvard and Yale continued its weekend softball series Sunday at Soldiers Field, with the Crimson (20-19, 11-5 Ivy) capturing the first game, 6-4, but the Bulldogs (9-20, 3-11 Ivy) were able to escape with the victory in the finale late in the afternoon, 3-1. -
Softball Throttles Yale in Game One, Comes-From-Behind for Game Two Victory Saturday
April 18, 2015Harvard softball (19-18, 10-4 Ivy) got back in the win column with two triumphs over rival Yale Saturday. In a tale of two different games, the first saw the Crimson rack up nine runs in the first inning as it cruised to a 10-1 victory. The second game was more closely contested, with three lead changes and one tie, but Harvard was able to overcome a 4-2 deficit to capture a 6-5 win.
