Ellen Macadam led the Crimson in seven offensive categories
in 2010 (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Ellen Macadam of the Harvard softball team has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Northeast Region first team, the organization announced Thursday. Macadam is one of two second basemen named to the first team as Long Island University’s Brynn Lewis also garnered a first-team accolade.
The junior second baseman had a stellar year for the Ivy League Runner-Up Crimson. Macadam led the team in a number of offensive categories, including batting average (.365), at-bats (159), hits (58) and stolen bases (16), and tied for first in doubles (14), triples (1) and runs scored (28). Her 14 doubles in 2010 tied a school record. In the field, Macadam boasted a .968 fielding percentage, committing just six errors on the season. She received ECAC and Ivy League Player of the Week honors for April 13 and was named to the All-Ivy first-team along with teammates Whitney Shaw and Rachel Brown.
Macadam has been named captain of the 2011 Harvard softball team along with classmate Emily Henderson. She enters her senior season seventh in program history with a career batting average of .340, eighth in runs scored with 87, eighth in hits with 146, third in doubles with 34, and fourth with 43 stolen bases.
