Sailing Heads to Connecticut for a Pair of Races

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Harvard sailing team heads to Connecticut this weekend, April 6-7, to take on a pair of races. Harvard's coed crew will compete for the NE Team Race Championship hosted by Connecticut College, while the women's team will vie for the Emily Wick Trophy hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

NE Team Race Championships & The Emily Wick Trophy – New London, Conn.
Competitors in Connecticut can expect consistent winds throughout the weekend, with winds ranging between five and 10 knots. Waves will remain around one foot or less across both days. 

What to Know
-At last year's NE Team Race Championship, the Crimson placed fifth overall, amassing 10 wins across the weekend.
-The Harvard women's team picked up 163 total points at the 2018 Emily Wick trophy, earning them a ninth-place mark.
-Last weekend, the Crimson won the 2019 Lynne Marchiando Trophy after posting a 16-6 record over two days of competition. 

Up Next
The Crimson looks ahead to a five-race slate next weekend, April 13-14. The coed team will split competition between the Thompson Trophy hosted by Connecticut College, the Oberg Trophy hosted by MIT and Northeastern, and the Central Series 4 hosted by Tufts. Meanwhile, the women's crew will head to the Women's National Team Race Invitational hosted by Brown. In addition, Harvard will close out the weekend at the Ivy League Championships hosted by Yale.
