Sailing Secures Top-5 Finish at Wood Trophy Team Race

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Harvard sailing team picked up a top-5 and top-10 finish this weekend on the water, placing fifth at the Wood Trophy Team Race and ninth at the Navy Women's Regatta.

Opening the weekend on the Charles River, the Crimson played host to the Wood Trophy Team Race, placing fifth overall with a 4-4 record. Jackson Wagner, Frankie Doyle and Eric Hansen served as skipper for Harvard while Katie Barkin, Kendra Heredia and Maria Tarazona were positioned at crew. In its eight races, the Crimson picked up victories over Princeton (1-2-3), Northeastern (1-2-4), MIT (1-2-6) and Fordham (1-2-4).

On the women's side, the team took a trip to Annapolis, Md., to compete at the Navy Women's Trophy. Placing ninth overall as a team with 187 points, Emma Kaneti and Emma Jakobson picked up 107 points for the Crimson in the A-Division while the duo of Taylor Gavula and Emily Wang scored 80 in the B-Division.
