Sailing Readies for Three Regattas

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Harvard sailing team sets off for three regattas this weekend, Oct. 13-14, competing for the Women's Showcase Finals hosted by Brown, the Capt. Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth, and the Massachusetts Maritime Invitational.

Forecast

Sailors competing on the Charles and in Buzzards Bay can expect winds between five and 10 knots throughout the weekend, with waves reaching anywhere between one and two feet. Sailors at Dartmouth will see similar conditions to close out the weekend.

What to Know

  • At least year's Captain Hurst Bowl, the Crimson sailed to a seventh-place finish overall, landing just one-point shy of sixth-place Boston College.
  • Last weekend, the Crimson collected three top-five finishes, sailing for the Sister Esther Open, the Coed Showcase, and the Stu Nelson Trophy.

What's Next

The Crimson looks forward to a three-regatta slate next weekend, Oct. 20-21, vying for the AC Showcase Finals hosted by St. Mary's College, the Yale Women's Regatta, and the Oberg Trophy co-hosted by MIT and Northeastern.
