CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard sailing team split up this weekend to take on the 82nd Annual Boston Dinghy Challenge Cup at MIT, the George Morris Trophy at Boston University and the Jerry Reed Trophy at Brown.
Harvard sent Taylor Ladd and Kristin Anderson to compete in the A-Division at the Jerry Reed Trophy, with support from Taylor Gavula and Emma Wheeler in the B-Division. The Jerry Reed Trophy served as the New England Conference Championship. After a close day of racing on Saturday, the Crimson were in contention for placing in the top-10, but fell to Bowdoin in head-to-head tiebreaker to finish 11th with 267 points. For full results, please see College Sailing. At the conclusion of the regatta, Taylor Ladd was presented with the NEISA Women's Sportsmanship Trophy.
Harvard and MIT co-hosted the 82nd Annual Boston Dinghy Challenge Cup on the Charles River. Harvard sent Nick Sertl and Christine Gosioco to sail in the A-Division, Nick Karnovksy and Nomin-Erdene Jagdagdorj to compete in the B-Division, with Nick DiGiovanni and Julia Lord sailing in the C-Division. DiGiovanni and Lord finished second in the C-Division with 53 points, the Crimson finished fifth among the group with 236 points. For full results, please see College Sailing.
The New England Coed Championships will be hosted by Boston College April 29-30.
