CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a week in which he was recognized by US Sailing as the Sailor of the Week, Alan Palmer helped the Crimson capture the Captain Hurst Bowl, earning him COOP Athlete of the Week honors.
Skippering all 14 races in the A division, Palmer’s led the Crimson to seven top-three finishes, totaling 80 points, tops in the division. Harvard won the 20-team intersectional regatta thanks to the consistent sailing and low scoring registered by Palmer and his boat mates, Ryan Byrne and Quincy Bock.
The victory at the Captain Hurst Bowl is the third this fall in which Palmer has been sailing for Harvard.
