BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Junior Dennis Blyashov, sophomore Noah Hodge and first-year Alexandru Bucur have all earned NWPC weekly awards the league announced today, Dec. 4. This marks the first time this season that Blyashov has been named Player of the Week and Bucur has been named Rookie of the Week. Hodge has earned the Defensive Player of the Week title for the sixth time this season and third straight week.
In the opening round match of the NCAA Tournament against No. 12 Bucknell on Nov. 30, Hodge recorded 11 saves and one steal. The reigning MVP of the NWPC Tournament finished the season with a total of 254 saves, second all-time in single-season saves in program history.
Blyashov tallied both of the Crimson's fourth quarter goals against Bucknell helping keep the team in the match until the very end. The Carlsbad, Calif. native would finish the match with two goals and two steals, bringing his goal total to 61, second on the team for the 2019 season.
As the reigning NWPC Rookie of the Tournament, Bucur had three assists and one steal in the final match of the season. The Sierra Made, Calif. native would finish the season with 40 assists, second on the team overall.
