Hodge, Putnam, Tsotadze Sweep NWPC Weekly Awards

Alex Tsotadze, Noah Hodge and Gabe-Putnam Have Earned NWPC Weekly Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Sophomores Noah Hodge and Alex Tsotadze and first-year Gabe Putnam have all earned weekly honors from the NWPC the league announced today, Nov. 27. This marks the fifth time that Hodge has been named Defensive Player of the Week this season while Putnam and Tstotadze are both first-time winners of the Rookie of the Week and Player of the Week awards, respectively.

Hodge recorded 25 saves, one assist and two steals during the NWPC Tournament, holding both St. Francis (N.Y.) and Princeton to under ten goals each. The San Juan Capistrano, Calif. native was named MVP of the tournament as well as All-Tournament First Team.

Tsotadze was instrumental in the Crimson's NWPC victory over No. 13 Princeton in the NWPC Championship. Tsotadze beat the Princeton goalie on a penalty shot to give Harvard the 8-7 victory. The Menlo Park, Calif. native tallied five goals and two assists during the NWPC Tournament and was named to the NWPC All-Tournament Second Team.

Putnam tallied two goals and two steals through two games of tournament play.

The Crimson will host No. 13 Bucknell in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday, Nov. 30 at 12:30 p.m. The winner of that match will advance to Stockton, Calif. to face No. 2 Southern California at the University of the Pacific.
