CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The No. 10 Harvard men's water polo team topped Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 12-8 to kick-off the 2018 Harvard Invite. The Crimson moves to 14-4 overall this season.

Junior Austin Sechrest led the way for the Crimson, finding the net quickly before classmate Charlie Owens put Harvard up 2-0. The Stags took advantage of a five-meter opportunity from Zach Rossman, but Sechrest quickly sent a counter shot to keep the Crimson's two goal lead. Harvard notched four more goals from Bruno Snow, Jackson Enright, Grant Harvey and Nick Bunn along with a penalty shot from Dennis Blyashov to exit the first half leading 7-3.

Both teams kept a strong defense, holding the other at bay until CMS' Robert Driscoll and Rossman strung two together to make it 7-5. Owens found his second goal of the night and a brief Crimson rally with back-to-back goals from first-year Alex Tsotadze. The Crimson allowed three more goals before concluding the night with goals from Blyashov and Tsotadze.
