  • Men’s Water Polo Announces Fourth Addition to Class of 2022

    Ted Minnis, The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach, has announced the addition of Michael Del Mundo to the Men’s water polo roster for the 2018-19 season. The Bakersfield, Calif., native joins incoming freshmen Noah Hodge, Michael Sonsini and Alex Tsotadze to round out the class of 2022.

    The Ivy League and ESPN have agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms, including at least 24 events annually on ESPN’s linear networks and more than 1,100 annually on ESPN+. This will include coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs.
  • Men’s Water Polo Puts 11 on ACWPC Scholar-Athlete Team

    The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its 2017 Men’s All-Academic Awards on Monday night. Eleven individuals of the Harvard men’s water polo team earned recognitions as scholar-athletes, while the team was one of six in the country to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or greater.
  • Minnis Bestowed USA Water Polo Zone Award

    USA Water Polo announced its 2017 Zone Award Winners in late January. Honorees are recognized for their contributions to the sport in a variety of disciplines: coaching, officiating, volunteering and more. The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach Ted Minnis was bestowed the Monte Nitzkowski Distinguished Coaching Award for the Northeast Zone. From these zone awards, USA Water Polo will select its national award winners later this year.
  • Ivy League Announces Fall Academic All-Ivy Selections

  • Men's Water Polo's Blyashov, Sechrest Garner All-America Honors

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Two members of the Harvard men's water polo team earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America recognition. Freshman Dennis Blysashov was named to the third team, while sophomore Austin Sechrest was named honorable mention.

    The No. 12 Harvard men's water polo team faces No. 1 Southern California for the third time in program history on Thursday night at Uytengsu Aquatics Center in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson faces the Trojans at 7 p.m. PST / 10 p.m. EST and the game will be available live on the Pac-12 Network. 
  • Men's Water Polo Sweeps NEWPC Weekly Awards

    For the second time this season, the Harvard men's water polo team swept the NEWPC Weekly Awards with Dennis Blyashov earning Player of the Week, Anthony Ridgley earning Defensive Player and Jackson Enright earning Rookie of the Week honors. Previously, the Crimson swept all awards during the week of October 16.

    The No. 12 Harvard men's water polo team defeated No. 17 George Washington, 15-13, in overtime at Blodgett Pool on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

  • No. 15 Men's Water Polo Wins NEWPC Championship, Moves on to NCAA Tournament

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In front of a packed Blodgett Pool on Sunday afternoon, the No. 15 Harvard men's water polo team defeated No. 13 Princeton in sudden-death overtime, 12-11, to earn its second-straight NEWPC Conference title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Freshman Dennis Blyashov netted the game-winning goal with less than three minutes left in the sudden-death overtime period.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 15 Harvard men's water polo team defeated No. 18 St. Francis (N.Y.), 9-7, in the semifinal round of the NWPC Tournament Conference on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Dennis Blyashov and sophomore Charlie Owens each had three goals. 
  • Men's Water Polo's Blyashov Named NWPC Rookie of the Year

    Harvard men's water polo's freshman Dennis Blyashov was named the NWPC Rookie of the Year and named a member of the 2017 NWPC All-Conference first team, as announced today. Junior goalkeeper Anthony Ridgley and junior Nick Bunn were named to the second team.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In the first round of the NEWPC Tournament on Friday night, the No. 15 Harvard men's water polo team defeated Iona, 16-7. The Crimson moves on to face No. 18 St. Francis (N.Y.) on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The game will air on the Ivy League Network.

    The No. 13 Harvard men's water polo team finished the regular season by splitting Saturday's contests with a win over MIT and a loss at No. 16 Brown. The Crimson took down the Engineers, 11-7, on Senior Day before falling to the Bears, 13-11.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 13 Harvard men's water polo team will honor the winningest class in program history prior to the start of this Saturday’s 10 a.m. contest against MIT at Blodgett Pool. Harvard will then travel to No. 16 Brown for a 3 p.m. contest. Both games will air on the Ivy League Network.
  • Men's Water Polo's Owens Named NWPC Player of the Week

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard men's water polo earned its 10th Northeast Water Polo Conference weekly award of the season on Thursday when sophomore Charlie Owens was named Player of the Week. Freshman Jackson Enright and junior goalkeeper Anthony Ridgley were named to the honor roll for Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

    The No. 14 Harvard men's water polo team earned two wins Sunday afternoon, defeating Iona and No. 19 St. Francis (N.Y.) at Blodgett Pool. The Crimson defeated the Gaels, 12-6, before edging the Terriers, 15-13.

    The No. 14 Harvard men's water polo team defeated No. 12 Princeton Saturday night at Blodgett Pool, 10-9. Junior Nick Bunn got the Crimson on the board with the first goal of the night and secured the game-winner to give Harvard its first victory of the weekend.

    The No. 11 Harvard men's water polo team moved to 2-1 at the Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament Saturday, racing past Fresno Pacific, 19-6, before falling to San Jose State in the final matchup of the day, 16-14. 
  • No. 15 Harvard Opens Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament With Win

    The No. 15 Harvard men's water polo team kicked off the Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament in California with an 11-10 win over Santa Clara. Four members of the Crimson accounted for the 11 goals scored, with freshman Dennis Blyashov netting six, followed by two apiece from senior captain Colin Chiapello and sophomore Austin Sechrest.

    The No. 14 Harvard men's water polo team swept all three games this weekend at the Harvard Invite, including Sunday's contest against George Washington. The Crimson earned the 13-9 victory thanks to a well-rounded effort on both offense and defense.
