No. 11 Men’s Water Polo Defeats MIT in NWPC Quarterfinals

No. 11 Harvard will play No. 12 Princeton tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. (Gil Talbot).

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 11 Harvard men's water polo advanced to the NWPC Tournament semifinal contest after handing MIT a 14-8 defeat at Denunizio Pool in Princeton, N.J. The Crimson now looks ahead to No. 12 Princeton tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

The Crimson and Engineers played a closely-contested first quarter, as MIT tied the game up at 2-2 early in the second quarter.

Harvard then erupted on the offensive end the remainder of the quarter, taking a three-goal lead (6-3) by the intermission.

The Crimson extended its advantage in the third as Harvard rattled off four consecutive goals to build a six-goal cushion. The Crimson went on to earn the 14-8 victory. 

Senior Noah Harrison tallied a score in every quarter en route to four goals, while senior Joey Colton and freshman Austin Sechrest recorded a pair of goals, each.

Sophomore Anthony Ridgley notched 10 saves in net to lead the defensive efforts.
