CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's water polo team had nine members recognized for their efforts in the classroom, as they were honored with All Academic awards by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. As a whole, the Crimson was also acknowledged as having the second-highest team grade point average in the nation. The team boasted a 3.411 cumulative GPA this year. With a 3.570 GPA, Brown claimed the highest team average in the country.
Co-captains senior Egen Atkinson and junior Bret Voith earned "Outstanding" honors as each maintained a GPA between 3.71 and 4.00. Four members of the team sported a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70, garnering "Superior" status. sophomore Kevin DiSilvestro, senior Thomas Bailey, and juniors Jeff Lee and Alex Thompson all earned the distinction. Seniors Nikhil Balaraman and Dan Furman and sophomore Mike Katzer were all awarded "Excellent" status for carrying a GPA between 3.20 and 3.40.
