CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Chase Howard of the Harvard men's volleyball team was named the Off the Block/Molten National Libero of the Week, as announced by the blog today. This is Howard's first recognition of his career for player of the week.
The Virginia Beach, Va. native led the Crimson defense in two conference wins over Charleston (W. Va.) this weekend at home. The sophomore libero recorded 3.14 digs per set over the two matches and combined for 22 total, 13 of which came in the series opener. This was the seventh time this season that Howard registered double-digit digs. Howard currently ranks second in the EIVA and eighth in the nation in digs per set at 2.62.
Harvard currently sits at third in the EIVA standings with a 5-2 record. The Crimson returns to action this Saturday-Monday, March 10-12, for a trip to California to face CSUN, USC and Concordia Irvine.
