Men’s Volleyball Tabbed Fifth in EIVA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Harvard men's volleyball team has been selected fifth in the EIVA Preseason Coaches' poll, the conference announced Friday. The Crimson finished the 2017 season with a 10-13 overall record, tallying a 7-7 mark in EIVA play.

The men earned 29 points in the preseason poll, edging NJIT, Sacred Heart and Charleston (W.Va.) by three, nine and 19 points, respectively. Harvard trails Saint Francis (Pa.) who was picked fourth with 40 points and George Mason who earned third with 45 points. Penn State and Princeton take the top two spots with 64 and 54 points, respectively.

Harvard returns co-captains Riley Moore and Jack Heavey for their final season in Crimson, along with fellow seniors Brad Gretsch and Marko Kostich. Kostich earned a spot on the All-EIVA second team last season after leading the team in assists with 4.95 per set and 431 total.

Traveling to Indiana for its first matches of the 2018 season, the Crimson will face Fort Wayne (Jan. 19) and Ball St. (Jan. 20). Harvard opens its home slate on Jan. 29, hosting Springfield on the Ivy League Network at 6 p.m.
